Newcastle Quay

A landmark, mixed-use destination
Developed by DOMA

A transformative waterfront precinct shaping Newcastle’s future.

Newcastle Quay will be a transformative destination at the heart of Newcastle’s future CBD. A place where the city meets the harbour, and where culture and community converge. This dynamic precinct will be a thriving, activated waterfront community that honours the deep cultural significance of this place into the future. A place of energy and exchange, it will be vibrant day and night, offering a mix of workplaces, public spaces and homes that foster connection.

A new waterfront neighbourhood to live, work and gather.

Fronting the harbour and spanning both sides of Honeysuckle Drive within the former industrial precinct, Newcastle Quay sits at the centre of the city’s most significant urban transformation. Bringing together over 1,000 residences, world-class commercial offices, a 180-room hotel and 500-seat conference and exhibition centre, public parking, and over 11,000m² of activated public domain, it sets a new benchmark for how a city is built and experienced.

Defined by generous green landscapes, activated ground-level retail and dining, and community spaces designed to foster genuine connection, Newcastle Quay will be a place people gravitate toward, not because they have to, but because it offers something this city has never had before.

Where the spirit of the past shapes the city of tomorrow.

Anchoring the precinct is the heritage-listed Wickham School of Arts, originally designed for the people of Wickham, and once frequented by Henry Lawson in pursuit of learning. The building has always been a place where Newcastle comes together. Reactivating it as a conference and events space honours that history rather than erasing it. The use changes, but the spirit doesn’t.

Newcastle Quay is more than a development. It is a new heart for this city.

A place where the energy of urban life meets the water. Where community is at the centre of every decision. Where Newcastle’s past and its future converge.
